Soils: See map - there are no known sinkholes or lava tubes. According to GIS there are several kinds of soils including: Croatan muck, Foreston Loamy fine sand, Kureb fine sand, Leon fine sand, Mandarin fine sand, Muckalee loam, Murville muck, Onslow loamy fine sand, Pactolus fine sand, Woodington fine sand loam.

Drainage: Boise Cascade timbered the property in 1969. They built more than 9 miles of roads throughout which included miles of ditches. These have been maintained and still function.

Minerals: Boise Cascade severed the mineral and gas rights in 1969 and still own them. However, according to an environmental engineer who did an extensive study in 2006-2008, there is no oil or precious metals here.
